skignz at the Playoffs - Wembley Stadium London

skignz was founded by two guys, Gary and Si who both hail from Middlesbrough, UK. support their local team Middlesbrough Football Club (Soccer for our readers in the US).

Middlesbrough F.C. had progressed through to the Championship Playoffs against Norwich City F.C. on Monday 25th May 2015, at Wembley Stadium.

The winner would not only win what has been termed the Richest Game on the planet (circa £150m) but also a place in the worlds leading League - Premier League. Both teams aiming to win so they could play the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal etc... every week.

Obviously being local guys, many of their friends, family, ex colleagues and businesses associates would be attending the game. 

In fact 38,000 Middlesbrough fans descended on Wembley, London to watch the game.




Si & Gary thought this a great opportunity to test the skignz platform with some of its new functionality. 

They asked various people to set up their own accounts and 'skignz' themselves and put up 'signage' and 'badges' either above their heads or in places they wanted to meet friends and family.

FUSION HIVE: skignz secures new offices

skignz are delighted to say that we will be relocating our HQ & UK offices to Fusion Hive.

We anticipate moving in in early August 2015 and look forward to welcoming our clients, partners and friends. 

Due to the recent investment and expansion of skignz, we required not only more room but we were looking for somewhere that would provide us with an environment to thrive in. 

Other tech & digitally focussed companies will also be in the same building and we looking forward to creating a relaxing, yet productive environment for us all to benefit from.

skignz has secured the top floor (left of the core) as shown in the top picture, providing us with a large open plan office space and high speed internet connection.

Also fantastic views across the the River Tees, Teesdale, Durham University & Stockton Riverside College.

THINKING DIGITAL 2015 - skignz Start-up WINNERS!

The 2.5 day THINKING DIGITAL 2015 was again held at The SAGE in Gateshead. skignz involvement started the day earlier with a start-up bootcamp where 12 businesses had been shortlisted to pitch at Campus North, the home of Ignite 100.

skignz had 3 mins and 5 slides to pitch an audience of circa 100 plus a judging panel of five. 

skignz was one of the two finalists chosen along side Bristlr (Tinder for men with beards).



With Bristlr receiving the judges nomination and skignz receiving the most votes in the peoples vote.










The two companies were then invited to deliver their 'pitches' at the main TDC2015 the next day. During the final afternoon session and with an audience of over 500 and with a huge audience watching on the live feed. Bristlr and skignz pitched.... with the audience voting for their choice.

skignz WON, for the 2nd time in a little over a week skignz won the main award. The rest of the vent was spent giving interviews to various audiences, including TV, press and tech publications.

The rest of the day included a dinner in central Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and the following day networking and watching the many different speakers. All in all, a wonderful experience, excellent presenters and fantastic networking with some really interesting people, all topped off with a skignz WIN! #tdc15
